Stamped and decorative concrete lets you get the look of pavers, natural stone, or brick for driveways, patios, and walkways — without the material cost or the long-term joint maintenance pavers require.
We offer common stamp patterns including ashlar slate, running-bond brick, cobblestone, and wood plank, combined with integral coloring, broadcast color hardener, or acid staining depending on the look you want. Most projects combine two colors — a base tone with an accent release color worked into the stamping process for depth and shadow lines that mimic real stone joints.
Expect to pay $14–$22 per square foot for stamped or decorative work, compared to $8–$13 for standard broom finish. The added cost covers coloring materials, the stamping labor itself, and a quality sealer application. For a patio or driveway where appearance matters as much as function, most homeowners find the premium worthwhile compared to pavers, which run considerably higher and require joint sand maintenance over time.
Sealer is not optional on decorative concrete — it's what protects the color and pattern from UV fading, de-icing salt damage, and moisture intrusion that can cause spalling over freeze-thaw cycles. We recommend resealing every 2–3 years. Unsealed or poorly maintained stamped concrete will fade and can develop surface damage well before the structural slab itself would fail.
